June 5

Today, we were able to get the code that Dr. McColgan posted this morning working. We set up a pull-down resistor and connected a push button to Vcc of the pmod and then the push button was connected to a resistor which was connected to ground of the pmod. Then we had a wire that connected pin 3 to the point at which the push button and the resistor meet.

After running the code, the eight LEDs lit up one at a time and then we were able to read "The voltage on pin 3 is 0"  on gtkterm and when we held down the push button we read "The voltage on pin 3 is 4."

We are now in the process of writing a code that allows us to control when each bit of the data is read. We are adding a clock and modifying the code that we described above.

We also sent a message to AVNET to see if they have any ideas as to why our Zedboard is not turning on.
